About
I’m not your typical trainer. I’m an ‘everyman’ who believes that people are walking around this planet completely unaware of what they’re actually physically and mentally capable of.
I work, I coach, I train, I father, I husband, I Volunteer… Shit, I’m busy!
I’ve been working in the industry since 2008. After I left University with a degree in Computer Science in 2005 I worked for two and half years in the mundane world of (read in an epic echoing voice)“Insurance Software Development”! Where I watched countless individuals taking it handy in their 9-5 lifestyle. Up at 0730, commute to work, have a bit of breakfast, do a tap of work, coffee, bit more work, meeting, coffee, lunch, work, coffee, work, commute home, pint on the way, 5-a-side football or a tickle of a gym session and repeat…. No idea of what they were actually capable of.
No thanks!
I packed it in, and through my rugby contacts managed to blag myself onto a course in South Africa where I learned the science behind Strength, Power and Fitness.
Armed with my new qualification I did what everyman does… I went on the piss, for a month, in a camper van, with three kiwis, all over Europe.
So, we’ve now got all of that out of the system… Queue the empire building!
Out of it TonedFit was born. Our bricks and mortar arm of the business. From 2008 we built up our client base and developed a strong ethos for training right, training hard, getting results and not letting anything slip.
Alongside all of this there was marriage, kids, mortgages, a dog, further education in the industry and volunteer work as crew with the RNLI (the charity that saves lives at sea).
So, we’re now over a decade along and it’s time to start showcasing what I’ve learned and coach others in how to do it. Learn from me.
Believe me when I say that any hole that we could have fallen in along the way we fell in. We didn’t just fall in, we rolled around, got mucky and slipped trying to get out repeatedly..!
This type of thing educates you and also hardens your perception of the world.
It’s quite simple. I now train harder, take less bullshit, stress less and educate more people. But there’s always room for kids, the wife and a few pints. After all, it’s a balance, right?
I’m not your typical trainer, i’m an ‘everyman’ …. who doesn’t really give a shit about fitting in.
